A Little Crazy, A Little Country…
And a lot of fun!
This past weekend I had Katelynn in the studio for back-to-school portraits. She wore her hair pulled back in a loose ponytail, and had on black and white tank button-up over spaghetti strap black tank, and jean shorts. With subtle and fresh makeup and natural style, this girl was worried about nada when it came to looking good for the camera.
We turned on some music, and got to work. A brick backdrop was used for this session, along with a light wood plyboard for the floordrop; the two worked well together for a slightly urban feel, which juxtaposed nicely to Katelynn’s fresher and softer appearance, and lent well to her personality.
Floor Sessions –
To create a slightly different and unique session, we kept this photo-shoot localized low to the floor; all of the poses were sitting or crouching with slight variances and angles leading in to new poses, to create many different looks. We were able to capture over 80 shots this way, narrowed down to about 35 final images. It also helped in keeping lighting consistent, and in allowing for comfort. Not only that, but it forces creativity, as you must think outside the box of typical standing and sitting poses when you limit yourself to use only the floor. In this case, it turned out beautifully, with some amazing and cute captures.
